Mystical Yoga Farm is a fully resourced shamanic center and off-grid community immersed in nature right on the shores of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. We offer ayahuasca ceremonies throughout the year and include ayahuasca in our plant medicine retreats at Lake Atitlán.

Jah and Sunny hold these nights, with trusted helpers in the room. Jahendo is trained and initiated with the Huni Kuin tribe of Brazil. He studies deeply with Yawanawa, Shipibo, Santo Daime and countless western mentors. The ceremony is a unique blend of all these styles, primarily Huni Kuin.

How a ceremony unfolds

Most sits are the traditional night below. All-night fire prayer happens sometimes — more details coming soon…

Most sits

Huni Kuin-inspired: prayer, icaros, three cups, and song. A unique blend of lineages, primarily Huni Kuin — joy woven through the healing!

A traditional night

  1. 6:00pm

    Orientation

Ceremony begins with a quick orientation.

  2. First cup

We open the space with a prayer and the first cup.

  3. ~45 min

    Noble silence

Lights go out. About 45 minutes of silence after the first cup.

  4. Voice — icaros, saites, pakaris

Then about an hour of traditional chants with just the voice.

  5. Second cup

Guitar and other instruments come in. Primarily Haux songs from the Amazon — Huni Kuin and Yawanawa — with some Portuguese.

  6. Hapé, then candles

Halfway through we call hapé (a shamanic tobacco snuff) in the centre. After hapé, candles go on and the mood lightens.

  7. Third cup

The third and final cup. English songs, more light, joy, softness and celebration.

  8. Share, dance, close

Towards the end the space opens for others to share music. We close with a special dance to get us back in our bodies. Fruit and soup for everyone when ceremony closes.

Frequently asked questions

Ayahuasca, also known as the tea, the vine, and la purga, is a brew made from the leaves of the Psychotria viridis shrub along with the stalks of the Banisteriopsis caapi vine, though other plants and ingredients can be added as well.

This drink was used for spiritual and religious purposes by ancient Amazonian tribes and is still used as a sacred beverage by some religious communities in Brazil and North America, including the Santo Daime.
