About
Our mission
Inspire the creative life force in all beings. Regenerate Mother Earth.
Founding story
Yoga, ceremony, and permaculture — a thriving communiTea in harmony with nature.
We are an off-grid spiritual sanctuary focused on healing, transformation & empowerment. Through the practice of yoga, ceremony, and permaculture we co-create a thriving community environment that is in harmony with nature.
Jahendo found the farm in 2015, started the volunteer program, and became owner in January 2022 alongside his beloved Sunny D. We strive to regenerate Mother Earth and to inspire the creative life force in all of our guests. Our guests leave inspired to spread the love and healing to their local communities, thus co-creating a new way of being… a New Earth!
By working with our local staff, we support the Tz'utujil Mayan community by providing education, jobs, resources, and a loving international family.

Our vegan kitchen
At the Mystical Yoga Farm, we are proud to offer delicious, sustainable, and soul-nourishing vegan cuisine, prepared with love using home-grown and locally sourced goods.
Featuring everything from banana pancakes and fresh fruit smoothies, to house-made lentil burgers, roasted veggies and hand pressed tortillas, the vegan meals prepared by our talented local staff are crafted to leave our guests with happy bellies and happy hearts.
We nourish our souls and our bodies while connecting in community with friends new and old around our communal dining table.
We believe that living in harmony with the land and with our fellow creatures is the key to a sustainable and healthy life. For that reason, our kitchen is completely free of animal products (with the exception of locally sourced fair trade honey). Whenever possible, we keep it local and organic, using greens and veggies grown right here on our land while supplementing with locally sourced produce and grains as needed.
Our kitchen is able to cater to most dietary needs, but please be sure to let us know in advance if you or anyone in your group has any restrictions, allergies or intolerances.

Permaculture & zero waste
Permaculture is an important way of life here at MYF. Finding balance and reconnecting humans with nature through revived techniques of rural living, delicately woven together with the most up-to-date and appropriate technologies.
Kitchen gardens of herbs and salad greens sit close to the rancho. Outer zones hold coffee and fruit trees. We have an established composting system, and a laboratory of experiments rooted in biodynamics, biointensive farming, permaculture, and vermiculture.
Every week we have Trash Tuesdays — lake and trail clean ups, sorting at the Resource Center, stuffing eco-bricks and making art. We started working toward 100% Zero Waste in 2016, and reached our current zero waste status in 2020!
Who holds it
Tap a name for the longer story. Karma yogis, local staff, and whoever is singing around the fire this week hold it too.

Getting here
We are located on Lake Atitlan, in Guatemala, in a remote, off-grid location only accessible by boat! The nearest town is Santiago.
From the Santiago dock, say ‘la finca de yoga’ to a boat driver. About 5–10 minutes across the water, Grandfather rock and the thatched shala when you’ve arrived.
Come find us on the lake
Boat, footpath, volcano views. We’d love to welcome you onto the land!
